Hollywood, CA - June 30th, 2009 - TMD! Extends Deadline through July 15th. 
Recently some promotions went out announcing the extended deadline cutoff dates as July 15th. This was a misprint. It was supposed to read 'Withoutabox.com Extended Deadline July 15th.' To be fair to those still hoping to submit directly through the TMD! website we have in fact extended the deadline to July 15th. Subsequently the Withoutabox.com Extended Deadline has been extended through July 31st. We just want to be fair to everyone. Hope this helps!

Just a few short months ago, THE MOVIE DEAL! Screenplay Contest Jury bestowed its Season 1 Grand Prize upon the co-writers of a wonderful drama entitled Muffin Top, penned by Robert Ross and Ashkin Heydarypour. The congratulatory phone call was made on Super Bowl Sunday to a stunned and elated writing team. Upon further discussion with the talented duo, it was discovered that they were already laying the groundwork to self-produce Muffin Top, and subsequently chose to continue with those plans . The TMD! Team wishes Our Season 1 Grand Prize Winners the best of luck in their venture, and will help them out in any way possible.

As THE MOVIE DEAL! Team is firmly committed to produce a contestant's work each season, the TMD! Staff is as of today proudly announcing that it has entered into an option and production agreement with the talented TMD! contestant/scribe of the gripping original drama THE NIGHT REAPING OF JOHN BARLEYCORN, James Conahan! The Night Reaping of John Barleycorn is a a rich tapestry woven of 1940's Hollywood, the powers of the Catholic Church, and the inner-deamons of talented and tormented screenwriter.

The TMD! Team is happy to announce that The Night Reaping of John Barleycorn is currently in pre-production and slated for filming in the Los Angeles area sometime this fall!
