Q: How do I enter?

A: Your Script, your Entry Form, and your Payment can all be submitted electronically on this site, or via the mail... whichever you prefer.


Q: What forms of payment do you accept?

A: Credit Card, Personal Check, Cashier's Check, US Money Order.



Q: Where do I mail the Entry form, script and payment?

Q: Who will be reading my screenplay/judging the contest?

A: The final Panel of Judges will be comprised of members of the attached production companies, established writers and writing professors, and ranking industry professionals and literary agents.


Q: Who will be in my movie if and when it is produced?

A: Casting is at the discretion of the THE MOVIE DEAL and the production companies attached thereto. It is the intention of contest administrators to attach a minimum of two bankable/"celebrity" actors to the final cast list.


Q: Will I be on the set of my movie?

A: We Hope So! Airfare and Hotel accomodations resulting in a minimum of one weeks stay during the production period is part of the Grand Prize package, should the winning author opt to have his work produced!


Q: Do I maintain rights to my screenplay?

A: Yes.


Q: Do I need to submit a logline? Synopsis?

A: No, but feel free to.


Q: Can I submit a screenplay under a pen name?

A: Yes.


Q: Does my script have to be registered?

A: No. We do recommend registering your work with the WGA and/or the Library of Congress Copyright office.


Q: Do you accept short screenplays?

A: Yes, in the shorts category.


Q: What's the minimum/maximum required page length?

A: Feature - 140 pages Shorts – 40 pages TV Pilots – 60 pages


Q: What genres do you accept?

A: All Genres are Welcome.


Q: If submitted electronically, does my script get read on the computer screen or is it printed out?

A: Scripts submitted online will be read on a computer, scripts submitted on the page, will be read from the page.


Q: How can you guarantee a script is even read and given an equal shot?

A: All scripts are read and considered equally.


Q: What elements of the script are taken into consideration during the judging?

A: We are looking for Originality, Story, Dialogue, Description and use and strength of Characters.

Q: I don't live in the United States, am I still eligible?

A: Yes.


Q: Is an adaptation of a published novel (by somebody else) eligible?

A: You must have the legal rights to adapt the book to enter your screenplay.


Q: Can I make a change to a submission? In a rush to get the material in, I uploaded the wrong version of the script? Is there any way I can resend the proper version?

A: If you contact us within 24 hours of the original upload, we will allow you to submit your revision. After 24 hours, you will not be able to make any changes, or will be charged for a new entry.


Q: Am I legally agreeing to have my screenplay produced by entering?

A: No. The Grand Prize Winner retains the right to turn down the option and production agreement when offered.


Q: What are my chances of winning?

A: Your exact chances are hard to say... we have a number of great prizes for the winners in each Script Category, a large number of applicants will qualify for "The Movie Deal Runner Up" or "The Movie Deal Honorable Mention" status in each category, and of course, one lucky writer will find his career propelled forward as his/her script is launched into pre-production as the Grand Prize Winner.*


Q: Who will be producing my Screenplay?

A: The Grand Prize Winner will be offered a chance to enter into an option and development contract with SQuid Brothers, INC. and American Stonehenge Films, LLC.* The combined production teams from these two respected companies will work hard to put your name on the map. The Grand Prize Winner is in no way obligated to enter into the option and development agreement.
